Dr.Manmohan Singh, the Prime Minister of India has visited France with his wife on a five day-two nations tour to France and Egypt. Dr.Singh arrived at Paris on 13th July 2009 when he was given a warm welcome.
Dr.Singh has attended this year’s Bastille day Parade of France held at Champs Elysees in Paris at France as the Chief Guest along with his wife, which was described by Dr.Singh as a honour to the people of India.
According to Dr.Singh India and France enjoy a close and wide-ranging strategic partnership and the relations of India with France encompass a large number of areas and have served our national interests well.
On 14th July 2009 Dr.Singh will attend the 15th Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Summit to be held at Egypt.
