Roger Federer defeated in US Open Finals

Roger Federer, the 28 year old top-seed Swiss tennis star was defeated, in an unbelievable manner, by the sixth seed Argentine’s 21 years old Del Potro in the Us Open Finals.

Del Potro became the second player to defeat Federer in a Grand Slam final, next to Raphael Nadal.

Because of this defeat Federer could not equalize the record of six consecutive wins in Grand Slam tennis achieved by the American Bill Tilden in 1925, and Federer’s unbeaten regime in tennis for the past five years came to an end.

The Finals match lasted for four hours and six minutes. The Argentine had to fight hard to dethrone the Champion.

By this victory Del Potro’s dreams to win the US Open and to be like Roger have become true.
