The Government of India in the year 1969, instituted an award by name ‘Dada Saheb Phalke’ award, for the life time achievement in cinema.
The ‘Dada Saheb Phalke’ award comprises of:
- A Certificate,
- Swarna Kamal/Golden Lotus of weight 52 gms, with about 50% of gold (costing about Rs 50 000/-)
- Cash Prize of Rs 10 Lakhs and
- A Shawl
