On 23rd November 2011, the following 5 Corporate Executives have been granted bail on a surety of Rs 5 Laksh each:
- Sanjay Chandra of Unitech Wireless,
- Vinod Goenka of Swan Telecom,
- Gautam Doshi of the Reliance Group,
- R, Surendra Pipara of the Reliance Group and
- Hari Nair of the Reliance Group.
The bail petitions of the following 6 persons including Ms.Kanimozhi are to be taken up on 25th November 2011:
- Mr.Sharad Kumar-MD of Kalaignar TV
- Mr.Asif Balwa, – Director of Kusegaon Fruits & Vegetables
- Mr.Shahid Usman Balwa- Swan Telecom promoter,
- Mr.Rajiv Agarwal- Director of Kusegaon Fruits & Vegetables
- Ms.Kanimozhi -DMK Rajya Sabha MP / Daughter of DMK Leader M.Karunananidhi and
- Mr.Karim Morani -Bollywood producer.
Former Telecom Minister Mr.A Raja, who was among the first to be arrested in the case along with two others on 2nd February 2011 has not yet moved for bail in any court.
The remaining 2 persons, Mr.Chandolia and Mr. Shahid Usman Balwa, are yet to approach the high court against the trial court’s order on 3rd November 2011 rejecting their bail pleas along with those of Ms. Kanimozhi and five others, who have challenged the decision.
The DMK fans and the entire family members of Ms.Kanimozhi, and especially, Mr.M.Karunanidhi are eagerly expecting the release on bail of Ms. Kanimozhi, who has been in ‘Tihar Jail’ for more than 6 months.
The Charge Sheets have been issued to all 14 accused in the ‘2 G Scam’ involving a very huge amount of loss to the Government Exchequer, and the Trial is about to commence.
And the people of India eagerly await one of the most important Judgements of the Indian Judiciary in the ‘2 G Scam’ case.
